Shrimp Cocktail Recipe!

One of my husband’s and I favorite meal is Shrimp Cocktail! We are big fans of seafood, especially SHRIMP! & to be honest with you, it is sooo simple to make. Everyone has their own way of making it, but this is how I was taught, and it comes out so delicious. I have listed all the ingredients below and the instructions, so if you are interested…KEEP READING!
Ingredients:
- Clamato
- Ketchup
- Lime
- Jalapeno Chili Pepper
- Tomatoes
- Cilantro
- Avocado
- Saltines
- & of course…SHRIMP!
Instructions:
- First, you start off with the shrimp, make sure you have rinsed off the shrimp with warm water and it has completely defrosted. I normally let the shrimp sit under running hot water while I chop the rest of the ingredients.
- While the shrimp is defrosting, I slice and dice the rest of my ingredients! This part is completely up to your preference. We personally like a lot of avocado and lime, and not a lot of jalapeno peppers. I end up slicing about 3 limes in halves, dice about 2 jalapeno peppers, and dice 3 avocados as well.
- Once the shrimp has completely defrosted, I put it in a big bowl big enough for the rest of my ingredients.
- I then squeeze the juice out of all of the lime halves that I have on top of the shrimp. Once that has been done, I make sure I mix everything well and let that sit for about 10 minutes so the acid in the lime juice cooks the shrimp.
- Once the time is up, I add the rest of my ingredients, all of the jalapeno chili peppers that have been diced, the tomatoes, and the avocado. Then mix everything all together.
- Then I add Clamato juice until it covers everything up & add ketchup as well. (Completely up to your preference how much ketchup you decide to add)
- Mix everything together again and taste, if you feel like it needs more ketchup you can add more the same with lime, or even avocados.
- Once all ingredients have been added, I dice some cilantro and add it to the top of my bowl of Shrimp Cocktail.
- Grab your Saltines and your drink and ENJOY!
Hope you enjoy your shrimp cocktail and let me know in the comments below if you guys have any other “special ingredients” you add to your shrimp cocktail!
P.S. The thing I struggle the most in finding in store is the CLAMATO!! I placed a link at the bottom where you can get it through Amazon, or you can use that as a picture to refer back to when you’re at the store.
