As you all may know by now, I have 3 girls…1 that is 4 years old, the other 3, and the last one is now 9 months old. We have been using some bilingual flashcards and they are my kids FAVORITE!
I mentioned in my recent post– How to Accomplish your Goals, that I am going to tackle all of my goals for this year! One of them is to speak only Spanish in our house! All 3 of my girls, even my youngest, understand it to a certain extent, but they don’t like speaking it much! I wish they would, but it just doesn’t come natural to them since they have been going to Daycare since they were each 2 months old. So it is definitely a struggle in our household.
I recently had Gabriela Medar contact me from the Funky Kid Store about trying out these awesome flashcards! She works with another mom, Lupita Valenzuela. I’m glad she contacted me when she did because I was starting to derail from my goal of speaking only Spanish in the house! They were the motivation I needed.
IAM GURU KIDS FLASHCARDS
These flashcards are perfect for 2 year olds and above! (I’m trying them on my 9-month old but she isn’t there QUITE yet, lol!) There are 72 ILLUSTRATED cards in the box! That is one of the reasons I love them, because my girls aren’t to the point where they’re reading yet…if it was just words & not pictures, my girls wouldn’t be able to use them until they were in the next learning stage…but since these have both the words and the images, there’s nothing keeping them from actually using them and LEARNING from them.
I also love the fact that they have an English & a SPANISH side to them! The cards are basic vocabulary, like numbers and animals and colors! These help me know as a mom, what topic I need to work more on with my kids.
It’s so EASSYY!
AANNNDDD, I haven’t even told you the best part yet! These are fool proof! In other words, your significant other could sit down with the kids and show them the card. Then let them guess what the image is! SIMPLE! Normally, I’m the more “patient” one & I have to sit down with the girls and get them to practice writing their names and do other fun learning activities with them. But for days that I am too tired & just want to cook dinner & go to bed, my husband helps out WITH THE FLASHCARDS! I normally head to the kitchen and start cooking as soon as I get off… while I cook dinner, my husband grabs the flashcards and sits there with our girls and spends about 15 minutes with them. It’s the simplest thing, and it HELPS!
P.S. They also have a Sign Up BONUS, you get 10% off your first purchase as well as FREE SHIPPING when you spend $20 or more!
Until next time!

Wow, these are great and so colourful. Kids are like sponges when they are younger, it’s the best time to get them started on learning a second language!

I completely agree!

What a great idea! I just starting using flash cards with my 2 year old (just letters and numbers so far) but would like to get him started on a 2nd language soon!

Yes! They have the words in English on one side & in Spanish on the other.
