DIY Bridesmaid Boxes

My husband and I got married through the court on our 3 year anniversary. We did something small and intimate since our second daughter was only 3 months and we had just bought a house.

We decided that our next step would be to get married through the Catholic Church! This was a big deal to my family & I knew I wanted that celebration to be BIG! Well…bigger than our marriage through the court. So we set our date and began looking up ideas on Pinterest. Something that really stuck out to me was the idea of having bridesmaids and groomsmen. I loved everything about the idea of asking them to be a part of our wedding, and going shopping for bridesmaid dresses.

So I decided to make a Bridesmaid Box for each of my bridesmaids! It was very simple and inexpensive and really cute! I loved it, and from their reactions, I could tell they loved them too! I have listed below my step-by-step instructions on how I made them and where I bought everything for the Bridesmaid Boxes along with their prices.

1. First things first, you have to get your box to insert cute little things inside. I got mine from Hollar. I chose this one out because it even had a cute little label spot on the side! & it was white! This is the exact one I got, The Classic Storage Box – Small, and they were only $3!!! I got 6! I didn’t want to do anything too crazy, so these small boxes were actually perfect! $18 TOTAL!

2. Next, I had to think about what I was going to put inside these boxes. I know for any wedding all the options you have can be very overwhelming! So once again, I went with something simple but cute. I got some plain white mugs and shredded decorative paper (in the colors of purple & white) from the Dollar Tree. Each white mug was $1 and I got 2 bags of each color of the shredded decorative paper which was also $1 each. $10 TOTAL!

3. I also bought these beautiful purple flower hard candy lollipops for each box from Wal-Mart for only $1 each. $6 TOTAL!

4. Now, we can start filling up the boxes with the stuff we bought! First, I put about 1/3 of the shredded decorative paper bag into a box. & I did the same for the other color. So in the box, I had both white & purple shredded decorative paper. I put the lollipop on one end of the bag and the white mug on the other. ***OPTIONAL: You can also write something on the mugs with an oil based permanent marker and put it in the oven to make sure the writing or drawing lasts on the mug! I did do this but unfortunately, I did not take a picture! But I will be posting a DIY on that as well soon!***

5. Finally, for my last step…I went on Word and created a simple way to propose to my future bridesmaids! I knew for sure I wanted something light purple & gray. So I thought this was perfect!!

& that is how I made my Bridesmaid Boxes & they loved them!! I only spent $34, not including taxes! Which ends up being less than $6 a box!! I did record their reaction on my YouTube channel! I will include the link down below if you guys are interested in viewing it!!
